The type of hosting service required depends on the goal of the webmaster, the kind of website being developed, the software being used to build the webpages, and of course, financial resources. Many web hosting services also offer a web content manage system, a package that allows users to maintain contents on their website without having the technical knowledge such as programming languages or HTML.

Depending on the type of service provided, there are many different monthly or annual plans that users can choose from. Regardless of the types of web hosting plans, users must read the terms and conditions carefully, should any performance problems arise in the future. Many web hosting companies also have acceptable use policies, or AUPs, that determine what is considered appropriate content for a website. These are all factors to consider when picking a hosting service.
